El Fortín captured its 7th Argentine title on Sunday with a dramatic 1-0 over Huracán. The match was the last game of the 2009 Clausura and might have been the most memorable “championship” match in Argentine club football history. The game & trophy winning goal was scored in the 83rd minute by Maximiliano Moralez. After some 13 minutes of added time, the whistle blew and the Estadio José Amalfitani exploded as Vélez Sarsfield captured the title. Vélez was the only team to go the entire tournament undefeated at home and only lost once during the whole Clausura tournament. For their impressive championship campaign, Club Atlético Vélez Sársfield can add World Cup Buzz Team Of The Week to their trophy case.
