The Uruguayan side earns the World Cup Buzz Team Of The Week award for their massive upset & elimintaion of Argentine & South American powerhouse Boca Juniors in the Round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Defensor beat Boca 1-0 at La Bombonera to advance to the quarters by a 3-2 aggregate. Diego de Souza’s goal in the 27th minute gave Uruguay’s I Viola the win an event the Argentine media are calling El Bombonerazo. The victory sent the Uruguayan side to their 2nd ever quarterfinal appearance as they look to take down another Argentine side when they face Estudiantes La Plata.
