samg Samaras Watch: Greece V Argentina

Not this time...but 2012...?

Well...the dream is over. Greece have went crashing out of World Cup 2010 after losing 2-0 to Argentina, a game that saw Samaras cover around forty yards on his own, as Greece played the entire game looking to see how few goals they could concede. To his credit, as not only the lone striker but lone attacker, he did a decent job and should have scored after controlling the ball well, but after his first shot was blocked and he put the second one wide. So Georgios - I salute you for having a good world cup. You may not have won me £300 and you didn't actually score a goal, but I can only blame the 10 players who constantly stood in the Greek half while you went for the kill. You've still got it - and your many near goals were some of the best things I've personally seen at this World Cup, calling goalkeepers and defenders into action as well as providing plenty exercise for the World Cup ball boys. This is the end of Samaras watch 2010 my friends, but don't fear - as today I am announcing Samaras watch - 2012! I have no doubt in my mind that Georgios will not only lead his side to qualifying for the European Championship, but also claim top scorer in the tournament itself. Don't let me down Sam son.

Final Greece Points - 3
